Bringing a new medical product onto the market is far from being an easy task. The process starts with drug discovery and further extensive development, which requires many steps, such as regulatory approvals, finding the right Investigators, Patients and conducting complicated clinical studies. This usually takes several years, a substantial budget and a lot of persistence. However, the outcomes, when successful, are well worth it. We owe every new drug, medical device or treatment method to clinical trials.
