National Atrial Fibrillation Awareness Month

September presents an opportunity to become more aware of the life threatening arrhythmia. National Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Awareness Month is organized by Heart Rhythm Society to and held every September in order to raise awareness of this common but critical condition.

Having AFib poses a greater risk of stroke. Some of the common symptoms of AFib include irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, and unusual fatigue. It is crucial to get diagnosed, if any of these symptoms show.

Many treatment options are available to those diagnosed with the condition, including medication, surgery, cardioversion and catheter ablation.
