World AIDS Day

1st of December is World AIDS Day.

Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a condition caused by infection with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). After the initial infection, the person may not notice any symptoms or experience a short period of flu-like illness.

If left untreated, the risk of developing common secondary infections is increasingly high.

In 2019 about 38 million people across in the world were estimated to have HIV.

World AIDS Day is a great opportunity to raise HIV/AIDS awareness, fight stigma and show solidarity with millions of people affected by it.
